The Idea of a Perfect Dream Wedding

Friday, August 31st, 2012

The Idea of a Perfect Dream WeddingWedding occasions have been one of the biggest highlights in our lives and most of us have planned to make the day one of the most memorable days of our life. People plan out for this day from the early days of their life, by fancying the best possible things that could be fixed up for this occasion. My wedding plans are a bit different unlike the traditional style. It would be something like a wedding in the paradise! If you are one of those future brides, who does not wish to indulge in those lavish weddings inclusive of traditional ceremonies, 200+ guests, requesting for taking thousands of the same type of photographs and above all, an overcrowded reception hall where in you have to say a hello to relatives that you even knew, if they existed. And, at the end of all this, you would be paying something more than £20,000+. Well, I would say a no to all this! My idea of a perfect wedding is quite simple, natural and a hassle free one.

An idyllic location for this would be jetting off to the white sands to host a ceremony on a private beach with the turquoise sea at the backdrop. Travelling down to the wedding destination where in the honeymoon villa would be just a few minutes away from the venue and that sounds a good and affordable investment. Walking down the beautiful sandy beach with sand between the toes, listening to my favourite music lapping against the water edges and sharing these fabulous moments just amidst my nearest and dearest ones is what I wish to indulge in for my wedding. And, whilst I commit to my partner with the exchange of rings during the ceremony, some fantastic moments to be trapped with a few lovely clicks and a toast raised to the union with fine champagne- it all sounds so sensational. Also, to fix up things accordingly, I can hire a professional to guide me throughout this special day. And, what make the wedding even better are the nature’s gifts that I can get to see, like the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, stunning picturesque views, tree shaded gardens and so much more. I probably, will wish this kind of wedding to be a never ending one.

Beach weddings sound an affordable solution and a good investment for one of the most special occasions of life. An investment for all this is much better than the old traditional style of getting married that the society is accustomed to. These days there are so many beach wedding resorts available and each one of them are well known for having given out some good experiences to married couples in the past. You can opt from a unique range of locations. You might just have to do a bit research on some of the best wedding locations on earth. To list out a few places there is Mexico, coastal US like Florida and Southern California, French Riviera Wedding, Greece Beach wedding and so much more. You will have to take your time and dig out some good information before you proceed for the memorable occasion. Well, if marriage plans are scheduled for you ahead, then how about experiencing a wedding in paradise? It could turn out to be one of the most intimate moments of your life with memories assured to last for a lifetime.

Take Care of your Eyes

Wednesday, August 29th, 2012

Take Care of your EyesThere is a saying that “eyes are the window of the soul” and I truly agree to this statement. Eyes are one of the most vital organs of our body and an extremely wonderful gift from God.

Every morning, when I get up and open my eyes to this wonderful world – I feel it is one of the most incredible creations on earth. This beautiful gift, everyone must ensure to take utmost care to keep it free from all kinds of problems. Poor eyesight and a bad vision is a common problem these days. Such problems definitely can be treated but they can also be prevented. With eye treatments being so expensive, it is important to take care of the eyes from an early stage itself.

The first and foremost action towards ensuring a good eye care is hygiene. Eyes being a sensitive organ are prone to infections easily. One cause of infection is germs on our hands, bacterial and fungal elements that can’t be seen. Viral infections can occur to our eyes and people from all ages can be affected by this. As soon as one is infected with this, the person will get itchy and watery eyes. And, if not treated soon, it might cause redness and even swelling around the eyes. The symptoms might vary from person to person, but it is always advisable to visit an optician to stop things from worsening. Sleep is another important aspect of our lives and lack of sleep will give dark circles and puffy eyes that mark a permanent look on the persons face. Therefore, eight hours of sleep is a must for all human beings. And an important note for all girls: please remember to remove eye makeup before going to bed.

Furthermore, the world today is centered with too many technological devices like computers, Television and cell phones. The entire world has become a slave to these gadgets by being dependent on them to the core. Constant staring to the computer, frequent watching of the Television can stress your eyes due to the light emitted from the screen. In today’s world, one certainly cannot avoid computers but can certainly take preventive measures like –maintaining a certain distance from the computers. Also, there are protective shields available for computer screens that are useful in filtering out the direct light emitted from the screens.

At times, our eyes are also infected with seasonal elements like dust, pollution that can cause allergies to our eyes. But, again we cannot walk with eyes closed in our everyday lives, but yes we can certainly adopt certain measures to protect eyes. For example, one can use sunglasses to protect eyes from the harsh rays of the sun. Ski Goggles can be used while hitting down the snowy slopes. Inclusive to the above, one should concentrate on a healthy diet, perform eye exercises regularly, no stress, relax your eyes, maintain hygiene and use of herbal remedies to improve eye health. To visualize a beautiful tomorrow, you must ensure to start up with a good health regime for your eyes from today!

Depressed? Could Be Those Late Night Sit-ins

Monday, August 27th, 2012

I’m not much of an early to bed, early to rise kind of person and I like to stay awake late into the night and watch a good movie with a bag of chips and some cola.

Today I ran into a little article suggesting that people who stay up late watching movies or peering into their computer screens are at a higher chance of developing depression. I’m not depressed right now and I hope I don’t in the future too but I think this is a warning that I need to stop this seemingly harmless habit.

The study was conducted by a team of neuroscientists at Ohio State University Medical Centre in the US. Researchers used hamsters for this study and exposed them to dim light at night and studied their behaviour which showed great resemblance to symptoms that are evident in depressed people.

Scientists believe that the increased exposure to dim light at night is one of the main reasons as to why depression has reached such epidemic promotions. Shockingly, women exposed to such light at night are twice as likely to fall into depression as compared to men.

The hamsters involved in the experiment were studied for about four weeks with them exposed daily to dim light similar to that of produced by Television in a dark room. After the four weeks, hamsters seemed less interested in drinking sugar water and showed lack of interest in food.

But the study doesn’t mean that you  can’t stay up for your favouritre movie at all. Scientists were able to figure out that people who stayed up late were able to minimuise the effects of depression by going back to normal light cycle. So there you have it, if you are one of those people like me who loves to just lie in bed and watch movies, make sure you turn on your lights and get proper sleep the next day.

Mirror Mirror On The Wall

Friday, August 24th, 2012

In case you haven’t heard, there is a new trend that is catching on called as “mirror fasting”. Any guesses on what this is? No? I’ll tell you, it is the recent trend among women avoiding the number of times they stare into a mirror. This new movement is reportedly from a group of US bloggers and the trend has gone viral.

These female bloggers recommend women to cut down on the number of hours they spent in front of the mirror and its not just real mirrors, even reflections in monitors, glass panes or anything which reflect your image back.

According “experts” who are promoting this new trend, looking into the mirror too much can make a girl become obsessed about the way she presents herself and it can even lead to depression. As crazy as it might sound, it actually does make sense.

A recent study had revealed that British women look in the mirror as many as 38 times in a day and men did the same about 18 times. In another unrelated survey, one fifth of every teen girl in UK admitted that they could not even bring themselves to barely look in the mirror. So I guess this mirror fasting thing is actually good for improving the self confidence in these girls.

Figures for this survey from above were collected from about 1000 girls aged between 12 and 18. Two thirds of these girls wanted to lose weight really bad and 63% of the lot admitted they were under pressure to change the way they look. Even if this new trend goes viral, I don’t think mirrors and girls will part their ways any time soon. It’s a relationship that has stood the test of time and will probably stay strong for many centuries to come.
