Now You Can Cross Tanning Off Your Worry List

With the summer out in all its glory, a trip to the beach is inevitable. If your skin is sensitive and you don’t take proper precautions, you could very well get over-tanned ruining your looks and not to mention grins from friends. Here are some natural remedies that can help you get rid of excess tan and bring back that healthy glow to your skin.

Exfoliate. As you exfoliate your skin, you lose dead cells which make way for newer healthier skin. However when exfoliating your skin, you should make sure that you use a gentle scrub as rough handling of skin in sensitive parts can cause rashes. Also when you use exfoliating scrubs, use only those that have natural salts and don’t try to remove all the tan in one go.

Next, limejuice. Limejuice is the best natural remedy for tanned skin you can lay your hands on. You need to take a big slice of lemon and slide it along the area that got over tanned for about two minutes and rub it in. After that, just leave the juice on the affected area for about ten minutes and then wash away. In case you are wondering, the citric acid in the limejuice is what will cause the breakdown of dead cells and help your skin recover faster.

Just like limejuice, you can also use potato juice for getting your skin back to normal. You can combine one tablespoon of limejuice and adequate potato juice for better results. Just spread the mix of both these wonder juices on the affected area and leave it on for 15 minutes. After that, wash off and your skin will look and feel better than ever before.

You can even use honey, papaya skin and over ripe banana to rub over the affected area and get your skin repaired. Until your skin is fully recovered make sure that you wear adequate sun protection when you step outside as new skin would be more vulnerable to the sun at the initial stages. Also drink lots of water and keep your body hydrated during the recovery phase; the sooner you get better, the sooner you can head back to the beach!

Frequent headaches can be a big ‘headache’ in itself and more often than not, you’ll be reaching out for the Aspirin box for quick relief. Unknown to most, headaches come about because of many reasons which include the fluids that you take in all through the day or even at night. Here is the list of common reasons that cause headaches without even you knowing it.

Alcohol. Yes, you know it is damaging to the liver but did you know they can also cause regular headaches even if you take only a few shots at a time? This is because alcohol contains tyramine that causes dehydration. Other petrochemicals contained in alcohol also cause heightened migraines which you might be considering as headaches. If you have the habit of consuming alcohol before bed, may be the headaches are a warning sign that you need to stop.

Next, chocolate. Experts often swear that chocolate is all good and that they can melt away stress but facts speak otherwise. Chocolates also contain tyramine and fats which when consumed together with other fatty foods block the absorption of serotonin which causes headache.

If you have been drinking coffee all for a long time and suddenly stopped it, the break in caffine can cause headaches. In case you want to quit the habit of taking in coffee, it is best advised that you cut down on the consumption of coffee and stop the habit over a period of time.

Almost all pasteries and sweets you get at the bakery contain loads of artificial sweeteners. Most people buy pasteries with artificial sweetners so that they wont put on weight with extra calories contained in regaulr sugar. However aspartame contained in artificial sweetners can cause severe migraines and also reduces the serotonin production of the body.

Next, cheese and ice cream. Both unavoidable during celebrations whether it be on top of your favourite pizza or your favourite milk shake but these foods also cause migraines. You might be familiar with the ‘brain-freeze’ associated with ice-cream but there is more to it than that. If your headache is regular and even after cutting down on these foods, they keep coming back, you should pay your doctor a visit.

Watch Out, Good Looking Pedestrian Ahead

Just happened to catch a small accident outside the corner of my home and it was a very pleasing sight. Yes, pleasing. Both motorists were distracted by a pedestrian standing by the road and after scratching each other’s vehicles, they bought each other a cup of tea and let it go with a laugh. If only everyone could see

I’ve always thought that careless pedestrians crossing the streets were responsible for most accidents but this latest research shows that motorists are just as responsible as the pedestrians. According to a recent study motorists ogling at UK pedestrians cause as much as one million crashes a year. This is not because pedestrians were crossing the street or being careless, its just a reflex thing.

Distracted motorists caused about 2,525 crashes in a day which accounted to 921,840 per year. Luckily, most of these accidents weren’t fatal either running into lampposts or the vehicle moving up in front. Around 60% of men admitted that they were distracted by women and 12% women were distracted good looking male pedestrians.

Also, an additional 21% admitted that they were distracted by billboards and advertising which also caused them to lose control of their vehicles. The study also points to another interesting fact, the number of accidents caused due to this particular reason hasn’t come down in many years. This means that motorists continue ogling and causing accidents even after hearing or reading about these figures.

I know it’s a very difficult thing for anyone, but next time you are out driving and you see an attractive pedestrian standing or walking by, remember that if you are not careful, you could add to that one million number. Try to keep your eyes on the road cause even if you miss one good looking pedestrian, there’ll always be plenty of others around after you park your car.
