Here is how to fight the Winter Blues!

Friday, November 29th, 2013

Here is how to fight the Winter Blues! The chilling winters demand us to follow a good skin care regime. With the temperature going down, the battle for healthy skin to begins. Dry air takes away the thin layer of oil that traps moisture in the skin causing it to be flaky and leading to dry skin. Therefore at this time of the year, skin is likely to experience disturbances such as dryness, flaky skin and sensitivity.

However, there are ways to beat the skin trauma by just following a few tips:

The major concern during Winters is to combat issues like dryness and flakiness. One important thing to take care of is not to get sloppy and implement the right measures at the earliest.

  • Firstly, update your skin care products keeping in mind the winter winds. Begin it with the right cleanser. As beauty begins with clean and a hygienic skin. So, ensure to buy the right cleanser, especially a creamier one as it helps to nourish the skin. Cleansing your skin properly before going to bed is important.
  • Using a hydrating mask helps the body to relax. The best option is to take a nice warm water bath 2 hours before going to bed. And, prior to this applying a hydrating mask is a fantastic option to ease out the stress from your body.
  • Ensure to have a brief bath by using lukewarm water and not too hot water. Switch off to less aggressive and moisture rich soaps ideal for sensitive skin. After a shower, pat your skin and apply a moisturizer when skin is damp. A few good options of moisturizers are Cetaphil and Eucerin.
  • Adding a serum to your routine can help in hydrating and nourishing your skin as much as possible. Especially after hydrating your skin, using a firm and good quality serum is important. The serum will help to reduce the signs of fatigue that tends to appear during the winter months. A few drops of serum and work it all the way up to the hair line and over it as it is the most neglected area.
  • Next step is exfoliation, and a fantastic option is using Lavender and sugar. Lavender is an ideal agent for it has anti-bacterial properties and helps to get rid of the excess dirt. And, if you do not prefer lavender then you can also mix almond oil with some sugar that smells incredible too.
  • Also, do not neglect the skin beneath the warm layers of clothing. Ensure to keep your skin supple and soft by applying the right moisturizer. It is vital to moisturize your body in colder chimes
  • Even lips and hands are highly affected in this season, therefore got to take care of them too. Ensure to exfoliate your lips as they tend to become very dry during this season. Apply the right ointment to keep them bright and beautiful.
  • For indulging in some relaxing and therapeutic treatment, you can pop in the essential oils into your night cream.

Alongside using all these, ensure to have proper and healthy diet with the intake of lots of fruits and vegetables. Plus, keep your skin hydrated by drinking lots of water.

Not women, but I am sure even men would be interested in following these.  A healthy skin further enhances to give a healthy mind.

What does your Sleeping position reveal about you?Sleeping is undoubtedly one of the best ways to banish a bad mood and attain a healthy lifestyle. Adequate sleep not only adds to a good health but also benefits your mind, weight, heart and so much more. There was a saying that “sleep used to be kind of ignored, like parking a car in a garage and picking it up in the morning.” However, these days’ people have realized the benefits of sleep and people try and ensure to complete the required hours of sleep. Also, just not sleep but also the manner in which we sleep affect our personality by determining how we feel the next day morning.

Like there are different positions in which we all sleep. Below mentioned are some ways that we sleep and what they denote about us:

  • People who sleep on their back with arms stretched out in front, wake up feeling absolutely refreshed and eager to start of the day in a fresh new way. This is the healthiest way of sleeping.
  • Sleeping with face down and arms outstretched indicates a feeling of being out of control, too tired and no energy.
  • People who sleep with a straight body are stubborn and will feel stiff in the morning.
  • One of the most popular styles is the fetal position. Around 58% of people sleep on their side with their knees up and head down. And, this style of sleeping is associated with stress. These people can expect to wake up refreshed the next day morning after having dealt with the previous day’s work.

Handle Stress Immediately and Calmly

Wednesday, April 10th, 2013

Handle Stress Immediately and CalmlyAll of us have to admit that the best things in life do not remain forever. Good things come and go! Nice situations turn into bad ones. People say stuff, things turn out wrong and you might end up in a terrible situation. And, what is even horrible is that no cares to help you out from it, in fact they enjoy seeing you in the miserable situation. Yes, the truth is that no cares seeing you upset! They might have even caused the situation for you. They see you coming and run for a cover. Well, then how on earth will you escape from it all?

Quit your Negative Thinking

Yes, the first and foremost thing is to quit ranting. Your rant is not helping you at all. I know most people say that venting out is helpful. Well, according to me it is not good unless the situation seriously demands it. And, that too it should be just once. What, I believe is that every moment you spend on ranting and for every ounce of energy you spend on talking, you are missing out moments that you could have spent in a better manner like laughing or spending some good time. Whining and crying, you are not solving any problem but intensifying your stress feelings. So, why not spend that energy in a positive manner and that will even help you out from the problematic situation. Stop ranting about the situation and start solving it. Do not make a bad situation worse. Use the energy for something creative and worthwhile.

Stop Thinking and Start Breathing

By ranting you would have realized, how fast your heart starts beating. You are so much heated up that you cannot even think of doing anything positive. Well, that is ok! All that you need to do is just stop thinking. I know, at time sit is a bit difficult to follow, and you have no option but do it. You will have to stop thinking about the situation. Block your mind from all these thoughts. The best way to do so, is start taking slow cleansing deep breaths. If required, close your eyes. Block that voice from your head. I know those things will still want to come to your mind, but continue breathing. Breathe from your diaphragm and put all your energy and attention in inhaling and exhaling slowly and calmly. If this helps then go to a place where there is silence and closing your eyes and doing it, will help you to gain more calmness in mind. It signals your anxiety levels that everything is fine. And, if you still cannot shut off the negative thoughts then hum a happy tune whilst you breathe. Fill in that space with happiness by interrupting the negative thoughts. Allow your breath to flow freely and put in all your energy in breathing.

Exercise your Positive Muscles

Staying in a positive place does require effort. However, being positive is a choice. There is no requirement of being so worked up and overwhelmed about every situation. Take a decision to be positive, even if you cannot figure out how the situation can be solved. Treat the situation like a challenge in your life and not a punishment. The best way to come out of stress is to focus on positive things. Think of the things that make you happy. What makes a laugh? Think about the funny situation that made you laugh out rolling. Who makes you feel special? Off late, you did something for someone that made the person feel really special about them. Challenge yourself to do things that you are grateful for. See the things that you can notice in front of you that are beautiful and pleasant. Do it while you read this, and see how it works? Are you feeling better? Did you notice any change? The situation would not have changed entirely but yes, you can certainly feel the change. Now, you are in a better mental space and prepared to do something constructive and creative.
