Darker the Better are Chocolates for HealthI am a big chocoholic! I love those dark chocolates. Who actually doesn’t love those dark chocolates? It is one of the universally loved foods in the world. There are so many things that contribute to make chocolate so delectable. The bitter and sweet taste, the creamy texture and seductive aroma- it’s sounds so yuuuuum! When having it, you can actually feel the smoothness and sweetness of the chocolate sliding down your throat. Antioxidants protect the body cells from dangerous radicals that can damage the healthy cells of our body. As we grow older, our body’s antioxidants become weak, therefore eating food rich with antioxidants is mandatory. And, that is why people concentrate more on fruits and vegetables, now even chocolate can be added to the list. Chocolates contain the same level of anti-oxidants as found in soybeans, oranges, berries, grapes, green tea and red wine.

Deep dark chocolates have more advantages than their paler counterparts. They are also known as unprocessed chocolate. Dark chocolates have a special class of antioxidants known as flavonoids that help to free the radicals from the body. A particular antioxidant called flavonol is present in high content in dark chocolates. Flavonol improve the blood circulation the heart and the brain. Plus, it also helps to keep the blood platelets less sticky. Thus, all this adds up to make deep dark chocolates a healthy-choice for all. Darker the better is the chocolate.

A few more benefits are associated with dark chocolates. Although, most of us associate eating chocolates with high calories and increased weight but consumption of unprocessed cocoa or dark chocolates actually lead to weight loss. The fibers in cocoa help in absorbing the fat and also make you feel less hungry and you end up eating less. Cocoa is also an antibacterial agent that removes bacteria from our body causing obesity.

Research has also proved that dark chocolates do wonders for people suffering from depression. The chocolates have neurotransmitters that reduce the risk of depression. Also, assists in improving breathing.

The presence of minerals and vitamins help to boost the energy levels, therefore making one feel rejuvenated and energized.

But, not all dark chocolates are alike, you have to be sure that the chocolate bar you are consuming has at least 70% cocoa. In fact, dark cocoa chocolates are instrumental in weight loss too. These days there has been an improvement in the taste as well. The chocolates, do not taste as bitter as they use to. Chocolates go well with a lot of things, you can even try it ice creams, fruits, cakes, fondues and a lot more that you like having it with.
